What IS EPGP? EPGP stands for Effort points - Gear points and is a way of rewarding those who participate most with gear. The philosophy is that those who raid regularly help the guild progress and should have the best gear so we can continue to progress. Versus giving a BIS piece to someone who raids once a month.

NOTE: We only use EPGP to give out gear in Current Content Raids. Lower level raids use a Roll system with Main Spec first, Offspec second. 

EFFORT POINTS: When you participate in guild events and raids you receive Effort points; even if you are lvl 10. 

GEAR POINTS: Each piece of gear has a value given by Blizzard. When you win a piece of gear the value of the gear is added to your GEAR POINT SCORE. 

POINT RATIO: The point ratio is your EP divided by your GP. 

HOW IT WORKS: Everyone starts off with a base EP and GP. 
Toons not yet lvl 80 start off with 15000
Recruits, Squires, Pages and Knights start off with 2000 EP 
Captains, LTs start off with 25000 EP 
Exalted+ start off with 30000 EP
Severed Toons (will explain later) start off with 10000 EP
Everyone starts off with 300 GP

As you participate in events and raids your EP will go up. As you get gear your GP will go up.. which in effect makes your PR go down. 
Example:

Tinybop the mage has EP: 20000, GP:300, PR: 66.66
Poplock the lock has EP:25000, GP:300, PR: 83.33

A lovely pair of gloves drop that both can use. The both roll. Regardless of the roll Poplock wins because he has a higher PR. (roll is used to indicate interest)
Now the gloves are valued at 194GS so Poplocks new GS would be 300 (the base)+194 = 494 and his new PR is: 50 
SO the next time a piece drops that is good for mages and locks and Tinybop rolls.. Tinybop wins. This is a very simplistic example as each persons EP and GP will continue to change as they raid etc... and GPs can fluctuate a lot ...some pieces which are BIS are around 800GP so if you get a BIS piece you might not win for awhile but it's worth it.

How much EP do we get? 

For Most Guild Events (not only raids), except Current Raiding Efforts: 1000 for showing up. If people leave before the end remove the 1000 at the RL's discretion.

NOTE: Showing up means showing up ON TIME and PREPARED!!

Who's My Main & Severed Toons

Your Main with EPGP is the one who rolls and gets gear. All of your alts generally have their EP roll up to this Main. Alts roll ONLY AS OFFSPEC in ICC/RS. You can choose to trump a roll and say " I want to use my Mains PR for this roll" and then the GP will effect your main toon. If you roll as offspec and win it does NOT effect your GP.. basically it's free. Alternatively you can select to SEVER one or more of your alts from your main. 

Sometimes we have guild members who have a lot of alts. These alts make it possible for us to run the number of events we do but if they can only roll as offspec they rarely get gear so don't have an incentive to do guild runs with their alts. We now allow guildmembers to SEVER their alts from their main thus giving them multiple mains for the purpose of rolling. However, that seems a bit unfair to all those single mains don't it? Well, not so... because we penalize them by giving them a very low EP when they start: they get 10000 points and it will take them several weeks running on those toons to climb the PR ladder. If that toon participates a lot then they deserve to get gear. If they decide they don't like being severed they cannot MERGE back with their main for 2 months and all EP gained during the time they are severed is forfeit.

Decay Once a week Gorgonis runs something called DECAY which lowers everyones EP & GP by 5%. Why? Because this is a way of keeping an even playing field for newer members and lowering the PR for those who are inactive. If you are very active your PR may lower because you win gear while someone who raids once a year might keep their high PR while not ever participating. That's not fair. So while decaying lowers YOUR PR, you continue to increase it by participating while THEIR PR continues to lower week by week while they are NOT participating. 

Bonuses
You may be awarded an EP bonus for doing something great for the guild like winning Guildy of the month. Some of the officers also receive bonuses for the extra effort they put into our guild events; such as raid leaders, raid organizers and the guild leader. This is a small way of showing our appreciation for the extra effort they make in keeping our guild successful and active.

BOES
Boes that drop in a raid are rolled upon for use by Main Spec first, Off spec second. You MUST equip it right then and their. If no one in the raid can use it then the BOE is put in the GB and we have a Loot Council to decide if we will allocate it to a guild member or if we sell it and put the money in the GB.

BOPS no one wants 
In higher level raids these are DE'd, the mats are put in the GB and are available for guild members for enchants. If there is no enchanter in the raid the RL will take the items, vendor them and put the gold in the GB. These funds help offset the cost of guild repairs.

Recipes etc...
All craft patterns that are recent tier go to the GB and officers will award them to members we feel are in the guild for the long haul.

YOU CAN SEE YOUR EPGP INFO

Gorgonis updates this several times a week and can be seen both here on this site by clicking the EPGP tab at the top of the page or by going to EPGPWEB.COM and looking for Midnight Fire. EPGPWEB also shows the actual gear won and history while this site only shows a current snapshot. 

LOOT DRAMA: We tolerate NO loot drama. We are a team, we always try to be fair. We realize everyone likes pretty shinies and can get their feelings hurt but we ask that YOU realize it's not done intentionally to slight you!! Sometimes a mistake is made or a decision is made that you don't agree with. If you fell bad about it talk to Gorgonis but remember it's VIRTUAL LOOT and it WILL DROP AGAIN.... not worth having a temper tantrum over. 

NOTE: The person doing EPGP must be MasterLooter! Only ONE person in the raid can be allocating EPGP points at a time or it will not work.
